Channel Tunnel contractors fined £52,000 for silt pollution
Channel Tunnel Rail Link contractors Hochtief and Norwest Holst have been jointly fined £45,000 for polluting three Kent streams with silt. The rail project claims "a sophisticated environmental management system", but the contractors had failed to make adequate provisions to protect watercourses.
