Belfast scores a crypto hat-trick

Belfast has won the dubious accolade of being the first UK city to have three waterborne outbreaks of cryptosporidiosis within a year. The latest, resulting in 221 confirmed cases, appears to have been caused by sewage contamination of a filtered water supply. Yet health experts refused to warn residents to boil drinking water because levels of the pathogen detected in the supply were "well within established safety limits".
