Mercury-free lamp sees light of day
Swedish lighting research company, LightLab, has developed a mercury-free, low-energy light bulb for everyday domestic use - and signed a deal for commercial production. The company claims its performance and price will be on a par with existing compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), but other attempts at non-mercury alternatives have had limited success.
