"Green electricity" searching for a role under renewables obligation

The market for "green electricity" is facing continued uncertainty in the run-up to implementation of the new obligation on suppliers to purchase renewable electricity - making many suppliers reluctant to invest in marketing. Only 20,000 domestic users have so far signed up to green tariffs, and without changes to the new obligation the market may soon dry up completely.
