Warning on "anti-androgenic" chemicals

An eminent UK reproductive biologist has cautioned that the effects of exposure to industrial chemicals which halt the production of the male hormone androgen may be the cause of increasing reproductive problems. Dr Richard Sharpe particularly singles out phthalate plasticisers, the fungicides vinclozolin and procymidone and a metabolite of the insecticide DDT.
