Enforcement action

Ineos Chlor received an enforcement notice from the Environment Agency on 27 June instructing it to construct a bund around four chemical storage tanks at its site in Runcorn, Cheshire. The tanks contain methylene, methyl chloride, chloroform and carbon tetrachloride, and there were several spillages at the site under its previous owners, ICI. Ineos should have submitted plans for the work over a year ago.
