Green issues bypassed in local authority procurement review

The first major official review of local authorities' procurement policies and practices in two decades has made not a single recommendation to promote green procurement, despite a request to do so from the Government.1 A survey reveals that, while most authorities have policies requiring environmental criteria to be considered, these are often not followed (see figure).
