Agency and HSE in row over industrial fires

An Environment Agency report on tactics to be adopted for fighting fires at industrial sites has revealed a serious split with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).1 Fire fighters should consider allowing premises to burn if fire water would cause serious water pollution, the report suggests - but the HSE fears the plan may threaten lives.
