Data on dioxins in eggs kept under wraps for years

A survey which remained unpublished for years by the Ministry of Agriculture (MAFF) and the Food Standards Agency found that free-range eggs can contain high levels of dioxins and PCBs. The results were never followed up, even though dioxin intakes by consumers would exceed health-based guidelines.
