Quarry fined for water pollution

Cambridgeshire-based Mick George (Haulage) has been fined £5,000 after admitting polluting the Southorpe brook with silt in August last year. The company admitted causing polluting matter to enter the brook, contrary to section 85(1) of the Water Resources Act 1991, on 23 July.
