Chemicals forum seeks first voluntary curbs

The Chemicals Stakeholder Forum (CSF) took its first concrete initiative in October by inviting manufacturers and users of the surfactants nonyl and octyl phenol to phase out their use ahead of EU legislation. The industry response will provide a pointer to how successful the voluntary approach is likely to be - amidst other signs that the Forum is moving into controversial territory.
