Retailers' sustainability strategy sets few targets
The latest sectoral sustainability strategy contains 17 objectives for the retail industry addressing issues such as recycling, product development and supply chain management. The majority are vague and quantified targets are thin on the ground, and the strategy appears unlikely to provide much stimulus for retailers to tackle the impacts of the products they sell.
