Pesticide firms balk at comparative risk assessment of products
The Government's Advisory Committee on Pesticides (ACP) is set to advocate a limited introduction of "comparative assessment" of pesticides to grade them according to their overall risks - but for information purposes only for the time being. In a recent consultation exercise, the pesticides industry voiced strong opposition to the idea of replacing more risky pesticides.
