Tyre pyrolysis plant planned for Wolverhampton

Plans by Energy Power Resources (EPR) to build a "pyro-combustion" plant to tackle 65,000 tonnes of scrap tyres per year could boost the UK's tyre recovery rate to 98% in 2002, according to provisional estimates by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). The project has breathed new life into efforts to increase tyre recovery after the collapse of plans to build a pyrolysis plant in Sheffield.
