"Energy+" label launched for ultra-efficient fridge-freezers

A new generation of ultra energy-efficient fridge-freezers which use three-quarters or less of the energy used by "A-rated" appliances is being promoted by the European Commission under the "Energy+" scheme. The project has recruited retailers and institutional buyers who have promised to consider selling or buying such appliances. The first two models, made by Electrolux, were launched in February.
