Farmers squeal over impact of IPPC and climate change levy

Many farmers - particularly in the horticultural sector - could be put out of business by the climate change levy, the House of Commons Agriculture Committee heard in February. Pig and poultry farmers also complained bitterly about the fees proposed by the Environment Agency for implementing the 1996 EC Directive on integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC).
