Contaminated land rules on the way in England

For the first time in ten years, an official deadline for bringing legislation on contaminated land into force looks certain to be kept. Regulations creating a new regime for identifying contaminated sites and parties liable for cleaning them up will come into effect on 1 April - though only in England. 1
