Agency sets out emission rules for coal-fired power stations

The Environment Agency has completed its long-running attempt to limit emissions of sulphur dioxide from coal- and oil-fired power stations. The complex new system offers incentives for generators to fit flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) equipment - but National Power may seek to appeal against the limits.
