Coalite dioxins enter human food chain via game birds

Dioxin contamination from Coalite Chemicals' Bolsover plant has contaminated game birds which are sold in food outlets, recent research suggests. 1 A study found a highly contaminated pheasant on sale in Germany which had been imported from the UK. The Ministry of Agriculture (MAFF) traced the bird to a packaging plant close to the Coalite works.
