Accreditation scheme for electronics recyclers

A voluntary accreditation scheme for reprocessors of waste electronic and electrical equipment (WEEE) is to be launched soon by the Industry Council for Electronic Equipment Recycling (ICER). The scheme will require companies to submit data to ICER on how much equipment they reprocess, and may offer a means for the UK to demonstrate that it is meeting the recycling targets to be set in the forthcoming EC Directive on WEEE.
