Cargill Dow Polymers: Turning plastics from plants into a sustainable business
Plans to build the world's first commercial facility to make mass market plastics from renewable resources were announced by Cargill Dow Polymers (CDP) in January. Collaborations already under way with major packaging and textile businesses are likely to see the first products on the market in about two years. CDP says that its new technology meets the "triple bottom line" of sustainability - and has promised to make the sustainability drive a fundamental part of its commercialisation plans.
