Government rules out national traffic reduction targets
Significant growth in road traffic is inevitable over the next decade even with intensive measures to curb car use, the Government has concluded. It has ruled out national traffic reduction targets in favour of "benchmark profiles" for local congestion and, possibly, traffic levels.
