Reductions in chemical exposure urged by medical experts
A group of doctors specialising in the study of allergic diseases and chemical sensitivity has urged the Government to reduce public exposure to synthetic chemicals and pollutants. Their report warns that allergies and multiple chemical sensitivity - where patients become sensitised to a range of chemical exposures - are on the increase. 1 They recommend reductions in exposure to pesticides, fragrances and food additives, and draw particular attention to indoor air pollution - an area where the Government has failed to act on earlier promises.
