Government urged to clean up or scrap dirty old vehicles

The Government's approach to dealing with traffic congestion and pollution lacks a sense of urgency, according to a new report for Ministers. 1 The Commission for Integrated Transport (CfIT) wants it to accelerate improvements in air quality by offering financial incentives for owners of older, more polluting vehicles to retrofit emissions-saving technologies or even scrap the dirtiest in pollution hotspots.
