Agency joins in attack on BNFL as reprocessing teeters on the brink

Poor management and commercial pressures have badly affected British Nuclear Fuels' environmental performance, the Environment Agency has told a parliamentary inquiry. Safety concerns and the potential loss of overseas customers have forced the Government to postpone its planned privatisation of the company - and the future of BNFL's nuclear fuel reprocessing activities looks increasingly doubtful.
