Industry guidelines on GM crops backed by Agriculture Commitee

Guidelines for growing genetically modified crops drawn up by the agriculture and biotechnology industries' Supply Chain Initiative on Modified Agricultural Crops (SCIMAC) should receive "clear endorsement" from the Government, according to a report by the House of Commons Agriculture Committee. 1 The Committee also recommends that voluntary international guidelines should be drawn up to extend the system of identity preservation from farm to retailer.
