£15 million shortfall for Midlands low-flow rivers
The Environment Agency and water regulator Ofwat have clashed over the funding of low flow alleviation schemes. Investment of £15 million for Midlands watercourses has been left unfunded by Ofwat, according to the Agency. The shortfall affects some 11 schemes, including the Blakedown brook near Kidderminster, the Bow brook near Bromsgrove and the river Sherbourne at Coventry.
