Slow progress for peat alternatives

Alternatives to peat are still failing to make much of an inroad into the growing media market, according to the latest figures from the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions (DETR). 1 Investigations by ENDS indicate that retailers are still reluctant to stock peat-free products - but the market may now receive a boost with the Composting Association's new standard for composts made from waste.
