The Environment Agency will shortly publish a 20-year strategic "vision" explaining how it wants to contribute to sustainable development. As well as setting aspirational goals for environmental quality and those it regulates, the draft strategy provides important pointers to the future of regulation and other ways in which the Agency hopes to influence business behaviour.
