Search on for source of TBT contamination in nappies

Nappy manufacturers have been forced into urgent discussions with their suppliers after tests by Greenpeace found traces of the endocrine disruptor tributyl tin (TBT) in their products. The industry is investigating the possibility that polymer granules supplied to plastic film businesses could have been contaminated. Meanwhile, the German and Austrian Environment Ministries are calling for national and EC-wide bans on all uses of TBT.
