Environment and customer concerns sink Kelda's mutualisation plan

Proposals to restructure Yorkshire Water by its owners Kelda have been scuppered by water regulator Ofwat following concerns over the likely effects on drinking water quality and the environment. Kelda's plans have been sent back to the drawing board, but new proposals on restructuring the industry are expected. Hyder, owners of Welsh Water, and Anglian say they have plans in the offing.
