Revised LAPC guidance to set tougher controls

The Government has published the first of series of revised draft guidance notes for plants regulated under local air pollution control (LAPC), intended to bring consistency with the new integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC) regime. The draft note applies in the metals sector - to reheating and heat treatment furnaces, which look set to face significantly tighter controls on emissions of nitrogen oxides and dioxins.
