Transfrontier shipment of waste regulations

Proposals to amend the Transfrontier Shipment of Waste Regulations 1994 were issued for consultation in August. 1 The proposals include giving HMCustoms & Excise the power to retain shipments without the need for a request from the Environment Agency, and to make information on "duly motivated requests" more publicly available. In addition, the Environment and Heritage Service would become the competent authority for Northern Ireland.
