Packaging regime soldiers on as Mayer Parry case goes to ECJ
The Environment Agency has confirmed that it will not consider changes to its accreditation policy for packaging waste reprocessors for at least 18 months, in the light of the recent referral of judicial review proceedings to the European Court of Justice (ECJ). The move will disappoint businesses such as metal recyclers, wood chippers, cullet producers and suppliers of plastic pellets which had hoped to gain the right to issue packaging waste recovery notes (PRNs) for the materials they handle.
