Swingeing cuts in the Department of Health budget for air quality research are in the pipeline as part of a long-term shift in priorities towards primary health care which threatens to undermine the air quality strategy. The National Society for Clean Air (NSCA) is already expressing concern that research on indoor air quality is suffering.
