Government "not persuaded" of need for environmental court

The Government has not been persuaded by the growing demands for a specialist environmental court in England and Wales, the House of Lords was told on 9 October. The debate reinforced suspicions that the Government intends to take little, if any, action to implement the pan-European Aarhus Convention's provisions on public access to justice in environmental matters.
