Total Fina fined £2,000 for oil pollution

Oil giant Total Fina was fined £2,000 with £600 costs by Fareham magistrates on 26 October after heating oil leaked from a garage into a tributary of the Wallington Estuary in Hampshire. The company pleaded guilty to a charge brought under section 85 of the Water Resources Act 1991.
