The British Lubricants Federation has signed a Responsible Care partnership agreement with the Chemical Industries Association.
The CIA's Responsible Care programme, now 11 years old, commits it to improve members' health, safety and environmental performance, and the BLF has now taken on a similar pledge. The two organisations will particularly look to co-operate on the BLF's product stewardship programme.
The BLF represents 110 companies which account for over 90% of the UK's lubricants output of over 800,000 tonnes per year. Members include major oil companies, independent manufacturers and raw material suppliers.
