Coatings firms baulk at proposed ban on chromium VI
A ban on hexavalent chromium in electrical goods proposed by the European Commission is arbitrary and unworkable, according to the British Coatings Federation (BCF). It is calling instead for limits on the amount of the substance present in products at the point of recovery or recycling - and exemptions for several coating applications.
