Environment Agency would face downsizing under the Tories
Former Environment Secretary John Gummer has revealed that the previous Government had intended to cut down the Environment Agency to less than half its current size. The disclosure came during a House of Commons debate on 24 November when the Conservatives' environment spokesman suggested that the Agency would suffer a similar fate under a new Tory administration.
