Growing interest in LCA as ISO standards near completion

The Government and industry are showing increasing interest in life-cycle assessment (LCA) as a tool to improve the environmental performance of products or processes or to inform the development of environmental policies. A new set of standards on LCA drawn up by the International Organisation for Standardization (ISO) may lend LCA further credibility - and could be promoted as best practice by the Department of Environment, Transport and the Regions (DETR).
