Risk reforms urged as public trust evaporates

Public confidence that politicians and official institutions will protect people from risks posed by genetically modified (GM) foods and pollution has reached a record low, according to a MORI poll for the Cabinet Office. Environmental groups came top of the list of organisations trusted to warn the public of pollution risks - miles ahead of Ministers and civil servants.
