Setback for EMAS as momentum builds behind ISO14001

Two of the first UK companies to achieve registration under the EC eco-management and audit scheme (EMAS) have decided not to re-register, and have opted instead for the ISO14001 international environmental standard. ISO14001 is extending its lead in the UK, with 149 new recruits since November compared with 11 under EMAS.
