Network firms join mobile phone collection programme
The UK's four mobile phone network providers - BT Cellnet, Orange, One2One and Vodafone - are to allow mobile phone users to take back discarded phones to retail outlets across the UK. The move comes three years after a pilot scheme was launched by the six main manufacturers - Alcatel, Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia, Panasonic and Philips (ENDS Report 253, pp 13-14 ).
