Recycle UK grasps household waste nettle

As the DETR strategy document notes, some compliance schemes and producers are aware of the need to take a strategic view of the problems that lie ahead before the recovery and recycling targets can be achieved. Although Valpak, Recycle UK and Biffpack have all publicly acknowledged this, so far there has been little sign of any compliance scheme channelling investment into boosting household waste collection. Until they begin to do this - especially Valpak, which holds roughly two-thirds of the market for PRNs - it seems certain the targets will be missed.
