Prospect of EC Directive spurs paint innovation
Paint manufacturers have begun reducing the solvent content of their products in anticipation of an EC Directive on decorative paints in the next few years. But labelling remains inconsistent, with producers split between those using B&Q's "globe" logo and others adopting the less conspicuous format proposed by the industry's trade body. Meanwhile, support for the EC eco-label for paints is waning.
