GM debate masks concern over new herbicide-tolerant crops
The new market which has sprung up in the UK for foods made with ingredients not produced from genetically modified crops looks set to include a growing number of herbicide-tolerant varieties which could pose as grave a threat to biodiversity as their GM counterparts. But retailers appear unconcerned as long as herbicide-tolerant crops are not an issue with their customers.
