House of Lords judgment forces EIA on old minerals permissions
Proposals to introduce statutory requirements for environmental impact assessment (EIA) during reviews of old minerals planning permissions were circulated by the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions (DETR) in June. 1 The move has been forced on the Government by a recent House of Lords ruling, and will lead to a less liberal regime for reviews of minerals permissions.
