National emissions ceiling proposal points to new squeeze on VOCs
National limits on emissions of four gases which contribute to acidification, eutrophication and low-level ozone pollution have been proposed by the European Commission. The long-awaited proposals - which are accompanied by an ambitious air quality target for ozone - would require significant further reductions in the UK's emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
