Progress in implementing North Sea protection strategies

A new environmental strategy for the offshore oil and gas industry and a greater impetus behind existing commitments to eliminate discharges of radioactive substances were the main outcomes of the OSPAR Commission's annual meeting, held in Hull in June. Progress in implementing last year's agreement to reduce discharges of hazardous substances will not become visible till later this year.
